We’ve been living in Lisbon for the past year – our most beloved place on Earth after Bangkok.
In that time, we’ve covered hundreds of miles, back and forth, across the city, exploring its every nook and cranny. Creeping into every bar, club and restaurant and canoodling with owners and patrons. Nibbling on every delectable dish and dessert, from the traditional to the astonishing. And sampling every possible rendition of cod. Strolling through parks and city beaches. Sailing on the Tag, hiking through the forests of Sintra, accidentally stumbling upon a cactus park full of wild chickens. Dancing to samba or electronica till daybreak. We found the tastiest crabs and the most perfectly melty ham-and-cheese toastie, sipping little beers and natural wines. We got lost in the old districts of the city, following the hypnotic trail of street music. We admired the city from countless lookout points. Most essentially, we got to know the locals and their customs, the heart of Lisbon. We did our best to sink into Portugal and describe what we experienced. This is what Lisbon Stories is about.
